About
In our counselling sessions, you can expect a space that is diversity-friendly, trauma-informed, & tailored to your individual needs.
We’ll explore what’s showing up for you, with sensitivity to your pace and preferences. I am informed by a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including:
Somatic Therapy
IFS-Informed Parts Work
Trauma Processing
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Nervous System Support
Gottman Therapy
Since 2010, I have been providing counselling to adults navigating a range of challenges including trauma, PTSD & complex PTSD, dissociation, stress, imposter syndrome, identity and shifting identities, grief and loss, suicide bereavement, relationship dynamics, work-life balance, personal development, and life transitions. I also have experience supporting Emergency Service personnel and their families.
Whether you’re dealing with the ripple of complex trauma, anxiety, grief, relationship struggles, or feeling stuck, I’m here to help.
A little about me
Hi, I’m Jasmin (she/her), & I’m so glad you’ve found your way here.
As an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and Trauma therapist, I bring a holistic and inclusive approach to our work together, considering your individual needs as well as the bigger picture of your life - the relationships, environment, and social systems that can impact our mental health. I’m here to offer support that’s grounded in deep respect for your unique experiences and the many factors that shape them.
When I’m not in sessions, you can often find me writing, exploring nature trails, or enjoying time with chosen family. I believe that connecting with nature and creativity helps us find balance and joy, and I love bringing these elements into my work whenever it feels supportive.
Session Vibes
Sessions usually begin with a gentle check-in… space to arrive, notice what’s been happening for you, and decide together what might feel most helpful to focus on that day.
Sometimes we continue exploring something we’ve already been working on. Other times, we follow what feels most present or important in the moment. There’s space for both.
You’re welcome to come as you are.
Bring the tangled thoughts. The uncertainty. The exhaustion. The curiosity.
You can take your shoes off, hold a fidget, sit quietly, laugh, cry, or not know what to say yet. Whether we’re meeting in person or online, this is a space where you don’t have to perform or have it all figured out.
We move at your pace.
We stay curious together.
And we make room to learn what your nervous system needs from the shared space.
Values
I am deeply committed to providing a neuroaffirming and trauma-informed space.
This means I honour and respect the diverse ways our brains work, and I understand the impact of trauma on the body and mind. I welcome people of all backgrounds, experiences, bodies and identities, with an open heart and a deep respect for your lived experience.
Whether you’re here because of a specific issue or feel that it’s time to connect more deeply with yourself, I’m here to listen and support you.
My hope is that our work together will help you feel seen, heard, and equipped to live your most nourishing and thriving life.
I take an integrative and collaborative approach to counselling. That means we work together to understand what’s going on for you, not just in your thoughts, but in your body, your relationships, your history, and the wider systems you live within.
Sometimes we explore patterns that have developed over time.
Sometimes we focus on building skills to cope with what’s happening right now.
Sometimes we slow things down and listen to what your body is trying to communicate.
There isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach here.
Instead, we stay flexible, responsive, and are guided by what feels meaningful and supportive for you.
